I have always been told I’m very calm and loving and a great sense of comfort to people, I’m an empath and I’m a very good listener and great at handling all sorts of emotions. I always loved arts and crafts and I think they are a great resource of expression and fun! I also would say I'm very clean and tidy I always try to be respectful of others things and feel much better when something is cleaned as it feels like a job well done.
My Experience
I used to look after my mum's best friends children, I started when I was 15 and have done it until last year, I would look after them for the day and into the night until their parents were home. When I started looking after them the younger girl was just a baby and the son was about 6 and I have looked after both as they have gotten older. I mainly made sure that they had all their meals, had playtime, did their homework and make sure they had showers or baths and got them ready for bed.
I also worked for a charity where I worked every Saturday in providing activities and dance classes for people with Down syndrome as a support worker. For this role I was responsible for ensuring that each member from ages 4 and upwards was having fun, staying hydrated and that they had snacks if needed and also assisted them with help going to the toilet or getting changed if needed. I worked usually once a week for up to 4 hours and occasionally more if we had a special event on.
I currently look after two boys aged 13 and 10 and have been working with the family for around a yaer and have built a strong trust and connection with them.
My Qualifications
I am fully DBS checked and have been for many years. I have basic Makaton training as well as a food hygiene certification for any cooking needs.
My Availability
I have availability mostly in the mornings everday of the week as well as completely free weekends.
