My responsibility as a key person in the nursery is to build a strong, caring and positive relationship with the children and their family to ensure each child feels safe, valued and unique.
Part of my apprenticeship was a one full week placement in Abacus Day Nursery to gain work experience with age group from 4 months up to 2 years old.
Supporting children’s emotional well-being, physical intimate care (dressing, washing, feeding, sleeping, changing and toileting) developing secure attachment with their environment and supporting their active learning.
Observing and monitoring the children’s development in the key areas such as Physical development, Personal, Social and Emotional Development, Communication and Language
Planning activities tailored to the children's needs and interests to support thirst for future learning through enabling environment, creating relationships and positive encouragement.
Working with other professionals in the team to ensure consistency for the children to support them; through transitions and development milestones.

While I was working for Waitrose and Partners my second job was a Child Carer and Housekeeper for the Stevenson family

Looked after the family home and pets (horses, dogs and cat) while the family were away on holiday

Planned, resourced and cooked daily menus for the staff dining room which included breakfast, lunch, snacks and contents of the vending machines.
Ensured staff received an enjoyable customer experience by providing friendly, attentive and proactive approach.
Enhanced staff product knowledge by using the finest ingredients from the Waitrose supermarket to cook Waitrose published recipes and publication.

• Nannying from £17.00 per hour (gross)
