My Experience

While I don’t have formal employment in childcare, I have gained valuable hands-on experience through:
• Babysitting younger family members – I’ve regularly looked after my younger siblings/cousins, preparing meals, helping with homework, and planning fun, age-appropriate activities.
• Helping out at family events – I’ve often been the go-to person for keeping children entertained and safe at gatherings.
• Volunteering with children – I’ve supported primary school classes, dance shows and lessons with younger groups and up to the age of 12, assisting with supervision and helping children feel included and cared for.
• Strong communication and patience – I naturally connect with children and have a calm, supportive approach, even in busy or challenging situations.
• Willingness to learn – I am eager to complete any necessary training (such as First Aid or safeguarding) and develop the skills needed to provide excellent childcare.

Certified PVG to work with all age groups
Emergency first aid training
SCQF level 7 dance leadership
SQA: personal development award
Soft skills from past work experience and nursing: empathy, compassion, communication, responsibility and adaptability

My Availability

I am currently a student mental health nurse so therefore I do have an 8 week placement beginning the 11th of July which I am happy to work around when I get my hours and location.
