Hi! My name is Amie, I am 18yrs old and I’m passionate about working with children and helping them learn, grow, and feel safe. While I don’t have professional childcare experience yet, I’ve spent a lot of time looking after younger family members and helping out with children in my community. My Experience
While I don’t have formal employment in childcare, I have gained valuable hands-on experience through:
• Babysitting younger family members – I’ve regularly looked after my younger siblings/cousins, preparing meals, helping with homework, and planning fun, age-appropriate activities.
• Helping out at family events – I’ve often been the go-to person for keeping children entertained and safe at gatherings.
• Volunteering with children – I’ve supported primary school classes, dance shows and lessons with younger groups and up to the age of 12, assisting with supervision and helping children feel included and cared for.
• Strong communication and patience – I naturally connect with children and have a calm, supportive approach, even in busy or challenging situations.
• Willingness to learn – I am eager to complete any necessary training (such as First Aid or safeguarding) and develop the skills needed to provide excellent childcare.

My Availability
I am currently a student mental health nurse so therefore I do have an 8 week placement beginning the 11th of July which I am happy to work around when I get my hours and location.
