My Experience
I have developed a strong foundation in health, social care, mental health and leadership through my Open University studies. My completed modules include An Introduction to Health and Social Care, Introduction to Childhood Studies and Child Psychology, Mental Health and Community, Social Work Law, Leading, Managing and Caring, and Approaches to Mental Health.
These studies have enhanced my understanding of human development, mental health, safeguarding, communication, leadership and person-centred practice. They have also strengthened my ability to work with diverse individuals and communities, promoting inclusion, wellbeing and positive outcomes.
In addition, I have volunteered as a Student Mentor with The Open University, providing guidance and encouragement to fellow students throughout their studies. This role has strengthened my communication, active listening, empathy and coaching skills, while enabling me to support individuals in overcoming challenges, building confidence and achieving their academic goals.
As a newly qualified TEFL English Teacher, I bring transferable skills from my health and social care background, including effective communication, empathy, active listening and the ability to support individuals with diverse needs. I am committed to creating inclusive and engaging learning environments that help students build confidence and achieve their English language goals. I continue to develop my professional knowledge through ongoing learning and reflective practice.
