Melvina
Nanny in Morden
My Summary
About Me
My name is Melvina, and I am a caring, reliable, and compassionate childcare professional with experience supporting children in both school and childcare settings. I am passionate about helping children feel safe, happy, and supported while encouraging their confidence, independence, and development. In my current role as a SEND Teaching Assistant at All Saints C of E Primary School, I support children with Autism, ADHD, speech and language difficulties, and emotional needs through 1:1 and small group support. This role has helped me develop patience, understanding, and strong communication skills when working with children of different ages and needs. Alongside my school experience, I also have 3 years’ experience working as a part-time nanny caring for a 6-year-old child. My responsibilities included school pick-ups, after-school and weekend care, supporting homework and reading, preparing meals and snacks, organising fun and educational activities, and maintaining routines to support the child’s wellbeing and development. This experience strengthened my ability to provide nurturing, dependable care while building positive and trusting relationships with both children and families. I enjoy creating warm, positive relationships with children and families and always aim to provide a calm, nurturing, and fun environment. My previous experience as a Nursery Nurse also gave me valuable knowledge of child development, safeguarding, and supporting children’s wellbeing through play and routine. I am confident supporting children’s emotional wellbeing, managing behaviour calmly and positively, and adapting to each child’s individual personality and needs. I am organised, trustworthy, and always put children’s safety, happiness, and wellbeing first. Alongside my experience, I have completed training in Safeguarding, Autism Support, ADHD and Behaviour, Speech and Language Support, SEMH, Full Paediatric first aid, Paediatric First Aid Awareness, and Food Hygiene.
