Registered Childminder Job in St Edmundsbury
About Me
Hi, I’m Joné! I’m a stay-at-home mum to my daughter Sìrene, but I also run a small home bakery.
Sìrene's father and I are very involved in Sìrene’s learning and development and love encouraging her curiosity through play, books, creative activities, cooking, gardening and exploring outdoors. We have a very relaxed approach at home and value learning through everyday experiences rather than feeling like everything has to be structured or academic.
I’m particularly drawn to small, nurturing settings where children are treated as individuals and can develop at their own pace. We really value good communication with childcare providers and would love to find somewhere that feels like an extension of the supportive, home-from-home environment she has at home.
I’m also very aware of neurodiversity, as both myself and Sìrene’s dad have diagnosed ADHD. We try to understand why a child is struggling rather than simply expecting them to behave a certain way, and that’s something I really value in a childcare setting.
We’re based near Bardwell and are happy to travel around the Bury St Edmunds area for the right place. ?
My Requirements
Hi! We’re looking for a small, warm and nurturing childcare setting for our 3-year-old daughter, Sìrene.
We’re particularly interested in a home-from-home environment with a small group of children, rather than a larger nursery. We’d love somewhere with a relaxed, child-led approach where she can learn through play, explore her interests and ideally spend plenty of time outdoors and in nature.
Sìrene is currently suspected to be autistic and has a strong chance of being ADHD so we feel that a smaller, calmer environment with a flexible and child-led approach would suit her particularly well.
She can sometimes become overwhelmed in busy or highly stimulating environments, so we’re looking for somewhere that can offer patience, understanding and a nurturing approach, while helping her develop her confidence, independence and social skills at her own pace.
We’re looking to use her 15 funded hours, so we would ideally need a setting that accepts government-funded places for 3-year-olds.
We’re based near Bardwell and are happy to travel towards Bury St Edmunds and the surrounding villages for the right setting. ?
Please get in touch if you feel your setting might be a good fit for Sìrene!

Gaea is absolutely amazing. She babysat our daughter when she was just 1 year old, and from the very beginning we felt completely comfortable leaving her in Gaea's care.
Our daughter absolutely adored her and was always happy and settled with her. Gaea has such a natural way with children, she is kind, patient, caring, and attentive, and she always made sure our daughter felt safe, loved, and entertained.
As parents, one of the most important things is being able to trust the person looking after your child, and Gaea gave us complete peace of mind. She communicated well, was reliable, and genuinely cared about our daughter's wellbeing.
Gaea treats every child as if they were her own, and it is clear that childcare is more than just a job to her. She has a wonderful, warm personality and quickly became someone we trusted completely.
We cannot recommend her highly enough. If you're looking for someone who is not only an excellent babysitter but also a genuinely caring and lovely person, Gaea is exactly that. Any family would be lucky to have her.
