My Experience

My childcare experience has developed over many years through a combination of personal, voluntary, and professional roles. I began by raising my own children, who are now grown up and either attending or have completed university. This hands-on experience gave me a strong foundation in caring for children from infancy through to young adulthood.

Following this, I worked as an assistant to a local registered childminder, where I was responsible for helping care for children aged from birth to 10 years old. My duties included preparing meals, planning creative and educational activities, school runs, and ensuring the children were safe, stimulated, and happy in a home-based environment. It was in this role that I truly developed my passion for working with children outside of my own family.

In addition to this, I have volunteered at local schools over the years, offering my time to assist with classroom support, reading sessions, creative play, and one-to-one help with children who needed extra attention. These experiences gave me further insight into different learning styles and behaviours, and strengthened my ability to work collaboratively with teaching staff and families.

I currently work as a Healthcare Assistant at Linden Lodge School, where I provide support for children with disabilities and complex special needs. My responsibilities include personal care, assisting with mobility and feeding, supporting emotional regulation, and helping children engage in learning through tailored sensory and communication approaches. This role has enhanced my understanding of inclusive care and deepened my commitment to supporting every child’s unique needs.

Through every stage of my experience—whether as a parent, assistant, volunteer, or HCA—I have remained deeply passionate about childcare. I bring warmth, patience, and reliability to every family I work with, and I take great pride in helping children feel safe, nurtured, and supported.

My Qualifications

I am a fully registered childminder with several years of hands-on experience caring for children from birth to 10 years old. I hold an up-to-date Paediatric First Aid certificate, ensuring I am well-prepared to respond to any health or emergency situations involving children.

I also have an Enhanced DBS check, and I am registered on the DBS Update Service, providing families with ongoing assurance of my suitability to work with children. My background includes working in both home-based and educational environments.

These qualifications, combined with my practical experience and passion for childcare, equip me to provide safe, nurturing, and professional care for every child I look after.

I am readily available for your childcare needs. I can accommodate tight schedules and can cater to each child (and their parents') needs.

My Fees

• Childminding from £9.50 per hour

My fees vary depending on different factors however I am more than happy to discuss parents' needs and requests.
