About Me

Hello, my name is Louise, I’m 31. I am a qualified Primary School teacher specialising in Early Years. I currently teach in a British International school in Bangkok where I have lived for 7 years. I am in the UK visiting family during July and August and plan to spend lots of time with my niece who will turn one in September. When I’m in the UK I also spend lots of time with my mum whilst she works as a nanny for 2 boys aged 3 & 6. This involves helping with the school run, preparing meals, personal care, planning trips and lots of play!

Play is a huge aspect of my pedagogy for children and the basis on which they learn. I have 4 years experience following a Reggio Emilia inspired approach to education which focuses on a child-centered philosophy, with an emphasis on self-directed, experiential learning in a relationship driven environment. I am an advocate for children’s well-being and prioritise this when working with young children.

Outside of my profession I am very active. I enjoy Muay Thai, running, weight training and Hyrox. When I’m not working out, I love exploring my local area, meeting friends for coffee and relaxing by the pool. I am well traveled and love to experience new cultures.

I’m also a keen baker and cook. I have been learning a lot about nutrition through my own coaching over the last 6 months and am keen to develop nutrition for children in my school. I am currently doing an online course focusing on the connection between nutrition and brain development in children. I also enjoy listening to podcasts and reading books focused on health, nutrition & self-help.
