About Me
Looking for a nanny for our 1.5yo twins, when we are in London and travel with us, mainly to the Carribbean and Europe. It is suitable for someone who wants to experience living in a warm Carribbean island for a few months a year.
We would sign a UK contract under English law.
My Requirements
Our twins are 1.5 years old. We are looking for a nanny with an Early Years qualification Level 4 or above, or a qualified nurse/midwife. This role involves extensive travelling with the family.
When we are in London, the role is live-out. When we are travelling, you will be staying with us. Since this travelling lifestyle is not for everyone, the initial contract is 6m max. If you are suitable, you enjoy extensive travel and spending a lot of time in warm climates, we will switch to a permanent contract. Prior experience travelling with family would be a bonus. We did hire nannies on a permanent contract, but they realised this lifestyle is not for them. They were very good at their job. Being away from family and friends can be hard for some people.
If you only want to work 6 months a year, travelling with us and spending a lot of time on Caribbean islands, it would work too. Island life is relaxing and slow. It gives you time to recharge after hectic travelling.
FAQ:
Q1: Do you have house staff?
A: No. We are just normal people. Both of us work full-time. We expect you to clean up after yourself and the kids.
Q2: Will I be given a credit card to spend on my own lunch and outings?
A: No. Again, we are normal people. We cannot afford you if you expect gym memberships, restaurant dining, and club memberships to be covered.
Q3: Can I work 1 month off and 1 month on? Return flights paid for?
A: No, we cannot afford you if it is your expectations. We expect each placement, if it is abroad, to be continuous, and we both stick to the fixed term agreed upon.
Q4: I don't like the built-in wardrobe in your flat. I want specific furniture for the accommodation, and don't want to live with grandparents when they are around.
A: Sorry, we cannot accommodate your needs. The role is live when we are aboard. You will have your own room. The family members, including the grandparents, stay in other rooms.
Q5: How do you travel?
A: We didn't realise what the question was initially. We travel on economy and can only offer economy tickets. We cannot afford you if you expect to be flown in business or premium economy. We got some nannies saying they are used to flying private. Again, we are normal people. We cannot afford the lifestyle you want working for UNHW families.
