My Experience
I have been a young carer for 5+ years with hands on experience for a family member with autism. My role as a young carer has shaped my empathy, patience and communication skills. I have completed work placements at a SEN primary school and a residential care home, where I supported children and older adults with day-to-day activities to meet their various needs. I have babysat for between the ages of 1-10.
My Qualifications
I’ve completed a Level 3 National Extended Diploma in Health and Social Care, which included modules on child development, safeguarding, and supporting individuals with additional needs. I also have hands-on experience from being a young carer for my brother who has non-verbal autism, as well as placements in a care home and a SEN primary school. I have a CPR certificate also.
