About Me

I have a passion for childcare, strong communication skills, and the ability to create a safe and nurturing environment. My background in psychology has provided me with a solid understanding of child development, in which I can support a child's physical, social and emotional growth. This paired with my creativity allows me to create age-appropriate activities and provide the right kind of support for each child. I bring a positive and patient attitude wherever I go, which lets me remain calm under pressure and handle challenges that may arise.

My Experience

I volunteered weekly at a club for children with autism, working amongst qualified professionals, to implement ABA therapy. I was given the opportunity to deepen my understanding of developmental disorders, while helping the children meet their personal goals. Different approaches through play were used to encourage appropriate behaviour displayed by the children, in order to improve their social and emotional skills. I have also spent time at a primary school with an SEN base, assisting the pupils with phonics, art projects and a school trip.

My Qualifications

Advanced Young Leader Award: I completed the advanced young leader programme, providing me with the skills to take an active, positive role in running a Girls’ Brigade unit.
