My Experience
I volunteered weekly at a club for children with autism, working amongst qualified professionals, to implement ABA therapy. I was given the opportunity to deepen my understanding of developmental disorders, while helping the children meet their personal goals. Different approaches through play were used to encourage appropriate behaviour displayed by the children, in order to improve their social and emotional skills. I have also spent time at a primary school with an SEN base, assisting the pupils with phonics, art projects and a school trip.

Advanced Young Leader Award: I completed the advanced young leader programme, providing me with the skills to take an active, positive role in running a Girls’ Brigade unit.
