Volunteer Early Years Assistant
Nursery

Children aged 3–4 years
• Arrive before the children to help set up outdoor learning areas and prepare play equipment
• Support children as they arrive, helping them settle into the nursery environment
• Engage children in play-based learning activities, including:
• Playdough and creative table activities (gluing, cutting, crafts)
• Construction and sensory play (magnets, small world play)
• Support children during outdoor play, encouraging social interaction and physical activity
• Assist with snack time, ensuring children are calm, safe, and supported
• Help children with independence skills such as putting on jackets and tidying up
• Follow staff instructions and step in where needed, including printing resources and preparing materials
• Maintain a safe, calm, and positive environment at all times

This role has strengthened my understanding of child development, routines, behaviour management, and age-appropriate activities within the EYFS framework.

Covers early years development, learning through play, and supporting children in line with the EYFS framework

Im available Friday evenings and Saturday and Sunday
