Hi! I'm Tharanyaa, a passionate and experienced private tutor with a strong academic background in Maths, Science, and English. I’m currently studying Aeronautical Engineering at the University of Glasgow and have been tutoring students from Year 3 up to GCSE level for over four years.
I specialise in 11+ preparation and Key Stage 3 and 4 support, tailoring each session to suit my students' learning styles and goals. I’m also trained in supporting students through the 11+ process and have first-hand experience guiding families through entrance exam preparation. My approach is warm, supportive, and results-driven, aiming to make learning both effective and enjoyable.
My Experience
I have over five years of tutoring experience, working with students from Year 3 to Year 11 across a range of subjects including Maths, English, and Science. I have helped more than 29 students prepare for the 11+ entrance exams, tailoring lessons to their specific needs and targeting key areas such as verbal and non-verbal reasoning, comprehension, and arithmetic.
I also tutor Key Stage 3 and GCSE (KS4) students in Maths, Physics, English Language and Literature. I’m familiar with both AQA and Edexcel exam boards and create personalised lesson plans that track progress through regular assessments and homework. My students have gone on to improve their confidence, academic performance, and results.
In addition to tutoring, I’ve gained valuable leadership and mentoring experience through roles such as Head of Engineering for the Women in STEM society at university and as a Student Ambassador. These experiences have helped me build strong communication skills, patience, and a clear, adaptable teaching style that supports all types of learners.
