Cancelled a confirmed place with not much notice

I had a confirmed place with this child minder for January as one of their current families said they were leaving. This was confirmed for months. When I then contacted about a visit, I was told that family had changed their mind and I no longer had a place, unsure if she only mentioned this to me as I had contacted her. This left me with no child care and having to hunt last minute. Surely if you have agreed a place with someone they have the place, the family who changed their mind should have had to hunt for a new place. Very unprofessional, be warned.
