I’m Alex, a qualified English teacher with a background in the arts, care work, and inclusive education. I’m passionate about helping learners find their voice, grow in confidence, and feel seen and supported in the process. I’m especially experienced working with neurodivergent students, learners with anxiety or SEMH needs, and anyone who’s struggled in mainstream education. My teaching style is calm, creative, and encouraging. I believe learning should feel safe, human, and even enjoyable, where possible.
My Experience
I’ve spent nearly 10 years teaching English in colleges, alternative provision, and SEND settings, supporting learners from Entry Level to GCSE, and occasionally adult functional skills. I hold a Level 5 Diploma in Education and Training and have extensive experience with trauma-informed teaching, restorative mentoring, and adapting lessons for students with a wide range of additional needs (ASD, ADHD, dyslexia, SEMH, etc.).
My Qualifications
Level 5 Diploma in Education & Training (DET) – QTLS-equivalent teaching qualification.
Level 2 Certificate in Dementia Care – with additional training in safeguarding, mental health and behaviour management.
GCSEs in English and Maths.
A-Level English Literature & Music.
Extensive CPD in trauma-informed teaching, restorative practice, inclusive support, and behaviour for learning.

Weekdays: 10am – 6pm (flexible on exact times)
Evenings: Available most evenings from 7pm
