Sue
Nanny in Coleford (also available for babysitting)
My Summary
About Me
Hi, I’m Sue.
I started my career as a nanny and progressed to caring for adults of all ages during my nursing career. Whilst I have been nursing, I’ve regularly spent time with my friend’s children and look after them on a regular basis. I have missed being able to care for and help children develop to the best of their abilities therefore I finished my role as an adult nurse at the beginning of January 2026 to take up a 3 month mother's help position.
My career has made me organised and willing to change and adapt to any circumstances at the last moment. I am hardworking, friendly and my good communication skills have been essential over the years. I love the outdoors and in my spare time enjoy walking, both in the Forest and further afield, and I love photography including nature around me on my walks.
I completed the London School of Childcare Studies Common Core Skills and Knowledge Level 2 on the 24th September 2025, this along with the First Aid Course and enhanced DBS will give me the option to join the Ofsted Voluntary Register.
My Experience
Over the last 25 years I have worked as an Adult Nurse in the NHS. Previous to that I worked as a Nanny for 2 families between 1995-1999. I obtained the qualification of National Nursery Examination Board Diploma in Nursery Nursing (NNEB) in 1995.
During my time as a nanny previously I looked after 4 children varying in age between 1 and 6 years. I was responsible for school drop offs and pick ups, day to day childcare for the younger children including taking them to activities. Also looking after all of the children during school holidays or if they were unwell.
I finished my nursing role at the beginning of January 2026 and took on a role of a mother's help on a short term contract until the end of March 2026. As a mother's help I supported the Mum with the end of pregnancy and the first month and a half of having a new baby. I completed all nursery duties including taking the other child a 19 month old out for trips to the park, soft play and toddler groups and helped out around the home.

Sue looked after 4 children for us during a wedding. They are 1, 2, 3 and 4 so no mean feat, but she was utterly in control the whole time.
They had a fantastic time, even asking before bed if Sue was coming back tomorrow!
I would not hesitate to recommend her to others.

Sue has babysat for our children several times, both on her own and as part of larger groups with multiple children ranging from 1-8 and we have always felt they were in very safe hands. She is responsible and thoughtful, asking all the right questions and making sure she understands every detail. She has a wonderful way with very different personalities, equally able to engage our chatty daughter and connect calmly with our more reserved son, both of whom are relaxed and happy in her company. She is warm, conscientious, and completely trustworthy, and we would recommend her wholeheartedly to any (lucky!) family.

Sue has looked after my kids (12, 10 & 18 months) multiple times over the last few years and the eldest two always ask when she’ll be back again! Completely trustworthy and always feel comfortable leaving the children with her knowing their needs will be met and should the worst happen she has ample experience to handle any issues that might come her way. Cannot recommend her services highly enough and she always goes above and beyond.
