About Me
Hi, I’m Abi
I’m a mum to a 13-month-old little girl and the owner of a warm, home-from-home childminding setting based in Wollaston Village, designed to help children feel safe, happy and cared for while they learn and grow.
Before beginning my childminding journey, I worked within the dental industry in both dental nursing and dental sales, where I developed strong communication, organisation and caring skills. Becoming a mum inspired me to create the kind of nurturing environment where children can truly thrive through play, routine, exploration and individual attention.
One of the biggest reasons I chose to become a childminder came from my own experience trying to find the right childcare for my daughter, Maeve. Although we met some lovely nursery staff, I could see that the busy environment felt overwhelming for her, and preschool didn’t feel like the right fit either. I quickly realised there was a real lack of smaller, home-from-home childcare options locally for families wanting something calmer, more personal and nurturing.
That experience stayed with me and made me realise just how important it is for parents to have different childcare choices, especially for children who thrive best in a quieter, more individual environment.
I wanted to create the kind of setting I had been searching for myself: a safe, welcoming and loving space where children feel comfortable, valued and cared for as individuals.
My setting offers a calm, family-focused atmosphere with a dedicated play space, outdoor play, local walks and trips to nearby parks and activities. I believe children learn best when they feel secure, supported and encouraged to be themselves.
I aim to build strong, trusting relationships with both children and parents, working closely together to support every child’s development and create a positive experience for the whole family

My Experience
I have a background in both childcare and healthcare-focused roles, with previous experience working as a dental nurse before moving into dental sales as a Territory Manager, supporting dental practices across my area. These roles helped me develop strong communication, organisation, safeguarding awareness and caring skills that I now bring into my childminding setting.
As a mum myself, I have hands-on experience caring for and supporting young children through their early development, routines and learning. This has strengthened my passion for creating a calm, nurturing and safe environment where children can feel happy, secure and confident.
I am committed to continuous learning and professional development and will be completing all required childminding training, safeguarding and paediatric first aid qualifications to provide high-quality care for every child in my setting

My Availability
I have availability Monday & Thursday from September 2026 & ad hoc childcare Monday-Thursday September - December 2026
My setting will offer:
* 2 early years spaces for children under 2 years old
* Wraparound care spaces for children attending Wollaston Primary School
I offer:
* Monday–thursday childcare
* 7.30am-5.30pm
* Full day, morning and afternoon sessions
* Before and after school care
* Funded hours accepted
As I will be running a small setting, spaces will be limited to ensure each child receives plenty of individual attention and care.
