About Me
Hi I'm Shann, and I am the founder of Little and Precious. I have spent the last ten years working with children across a range of ages and in this time have become passionate about creating spaces where children feel safe and valued and are excited to learn and grow!
At Little and Precious, your child will be welcomed with warmth, respect, and a whole lot of fun! I take pride in building a strong relationship with families and providing a nurturing environment in which children and parents feel safe and secure.
When I'm not working, you will often find me competing in volleyball tournaments, exploring fun new nature trails, or enjoying the time with my family and friends.
My Experience
I began my Journey in education over ten years ago as an apprentice in a nursery, and have been building on this passion from then on! Since then, I've had the opportunity to grow through a range of different roles - From practitioner, to room leader, before eventually taking on a role as the deputy manager.
Throughout my career I have worked with children across various ages and have been able to hone in on my skills both in nursery settings and outside of work with numerous babysitting and nannying jobs. My experience has given me a deep understanding of how to meet each child's individual needs and support them in reaching their full potential.
I've had hands on experience of the day to day running of a setting, but also for mentoring a team, building strong relationships with families and maintaining high standards of care, learning and safeguarding.
I'm so excited to take what I have learnt and apply it to my own business- creating a space where children feel safe, supported and inspired everyday.
My Qualifications
- Level 3 qualified in children's learning and development .
- Childminder Qualification
- Paediatric First aid trained
- Food Hygiene
- Safeguarding
My Availability
My setting is open Monday - Friday from 8am until 6 pm, offering full day care in a safe, supportive and enriching environment.
For families who need a little extra support, I also offer babysitting services on weekends, subject to availability.
I understand how important flexibility is for busy families, so if you have specific needs or schedules feel free to get in touch- I will always do my best to accommodate.
