Nanny Or Nanny-Housekeeper In Stanmore
About Me
We’re a Stanmore based family with two parents working full-time. We have three children (B 10, B 8, G 6 years old) who attend full-time school.
My Requirements
We are looking for an organised, proactive, caring and reliable nanny/nanny-housekeeper to become part of our family.
INITIAL ROLE - Three month contract with view to long term role.
Starting 20th April until 10th July
One week off during May half term
- Live-out preferred but open to considering live-in for the right candidate.
- A driver is needed, own car required with appropriate insurance.
- Native or highly fluent English required as our children will need help with homework after school.
- We need a minimum of 30 hours per week. Fixed hours are 7:00-8:30am plus 3:25-7:00pm in direct care of the children with a few extra hours for light household duties (mainly laundry).
What do we need from our nanny?
- Professional - reliable, punctual, where children’s needs are paramount. Someone who will fit into our family and use initiative in keeping the family organised.
- We’re looking for someone who is fun, nurturing, calm and caring, who loves children and enjoys keeping the children active and challenged, but also open to creative activities - but who is also able to set clear and consistent boundaries and uphold a regular routine.
- Someone who will prepare healthy, varied, balanced meals and snacks for the children.
- You will do nanny housework associated with the children (i.e. preparing and cleaning up after meal time, their laundry and ironing, bath time). We have a weekly cleaner, so overall house cleaning duties are not part of this role.
- Someone able to pick up from school and take the children to other scheduled activities. All present extra-curricular activities are close to home.
- Someone who is passionate about supporting our children with their learning, helping them to explore their interests, develop new skills and help with homework.
- Prior experience with children is necessary (be it a previous nanny, nursery worker, teaching assistant, etc).
- Any prior experience or background in teaching is highly desirable.
References: we will seek references and, if requested, we are happy to provide references from our past nannies.
Requirements
- Must have a valid and clean driving license including nanny insurance (own car preferred)
- Valid passport/work permit
- Valid DBS
- English speaking
- First aid qualification
LONG TERM ROLE:
- Monday to Friday during school term time (approximately 38 weeks per year). The salary and pro-rata holiday has been calculated by Nanny Tax at 38 weeks plus 22 days holiday.
- All holidays must be taken within published school holidays. Calendar will be shared in advance.
- Payroll will be through Nanny Tax. We plan to arrange payroll to average the hours out over the year to provide a consistent monthly salary rather than pro-rata weekly.
- Sometimes we'll ask for optional babysitting or may ask you to join us on holiday but this will always be optional and paid on an ad hoc basis if it doesn’t fall within normal hours/weeks.
- Salary: competitive and in line with agency recommendations (to be discussed depending on live-in vs live-out and experience, and if own car provided).
This is a term-time role of approximately 38 weeks per year with pro-rata holiday pay included in the salary.
