I’m an outdoors enthusiast who loves cycling, walking, and exploring nature. I’m very low-maintenance and happy to get muddy while taking kids on adventures through parks and green spaces, complete with yummy homemade picnics.
I’m bilingual in French and English, with basic knowledge of Dutch and Spanish, which I’d be delighted to incorporate into children’s activities to add a fun, educational twist.
Having studied English at university, I wrote my thesis on liberatory education, and I find educational theory and psychology very interesting. I’m passionate about reading and would enjoy storytime with children. Overall, I’m a very creative person who loves supporting children’s growth through play, learning, and new experiences
My Experience
Since the age of 14, I have done occasional babysitting. Between the ages of 16 and 18, I regularly cared for the same young girl from ages 5 to 7. While I was at university in Amsterdam, I babysat a 3-year-old and a 5-year-old regularly, cooking their dinners and supporting the family in the evenings.
I also looked after a French 3-year-old while her parents worked, including cooking dinner, bath time, and organising outdoor activities.
In addition, I volunteered and completed work experience with the NHS Speech and Language department, supporting children with special educational needs and autism diagnoses.
Growing up, I was immersed in an English teaching environment in France—my parents ran a language school for children—so I gained insight into the behind-the-scenes of running a language school and educational programming for kids.
Alongside this, I have extensive hospitality experience, which has strengthened my organisational and interpersonal skills.
Finally, I am currently completing my Paediatric First Aid course to further enhance my childcare qualifications.
My Qualifications
I hold an honours degree in Literary and Cultural Analysis from Amsterdam University. I also have a full driving licence and am currently in the process of completing my 12-hour Paediatric First Aid course.
My Availability
My availability is full-time and flexible, and I can start from 17th August.
