With emphasis on mindful communication & empathy, I focus on growing a partnership with parents, in facilitating their children feel happy, cared for, safe and confident in their journey of development.

Able to engage adult and child led play, outings & mealtimes with suitable support and feedback for parents in a healthy, fun, environmentally aware & ecologically low impact way .

I'm looking for very part time hours in your home and local surroundings, to fit in with my charity position. (Flexible hours are possible)

I would cycle or walk to your home, in or near Bradford on Avon, Wiltshire, and enjoy getting providing activities with your youngsters, especially in natural settings.

A few more thoughts: 2026: May 15th 2026:
As well as the few uploaded docs, (visible today) on this site, I will continue, gradually, to upload my other relevant certificates, etc. as time permits. These include: 4mth Govt. Level 3 in Early Years childcare First Aid, Safeguarding, Food & Hygiene (All 2025).

I intend to transition my part time paid work from mostly gardening to child care in or very near Bradford on Avon.
I work self-employed as a sole trader, and can provide invoices for cash or bank transfer payment. I intend to work for the foreseeable future, and stay local to Bradford on Avon due to my commitment to supporting the Aukana Retreat Centre (reg. Charity). (I have 5 years to state retirement age but do not have fixed plans regarding this.

Nanny/ Babysitting
I believe my recent 4 month intensive government training course, plus local day nursery paid work have given me a good background to offer parents my help. I have always enjoyed sharing time with little ones, entertaining and caring for their needs, having been around and helped out with children of family, & friends since the age of 17 (when I lived as a trainee with sculptors in Northamptonshire who had a young family).

The 2025 course and work updated my casual knowledge to give the theory and practice of providing a safe, structured care & play, with sensitivity to individual child and parent needs. They both gave up to date guidelines of relevant childcare, age-related play activities with expectations for educational goals, safety, etc. with fun, health and safety to the forefront! A daily mix of child-led and adult-led activities was stressed as most beneficial, with 'outdoors time', especially in nature, creative storytelling, singing and art projects my personal favourites!

To 'fill in for family,' like an aunty who would look after her relatives' children if they lived nearby, it is so important for us all to get to know each other in a friendly way, yet having the underpinning of up to date, professional training & standards, to gradually build familiarity and trust.

To start my new family-based childcare roles, there will be no charge in the beginning, for several sessions... with parent(s) present, until we are all confident and happy for me to continue alone. This takes time and patience. I see this gradual approach to build mutual confidence as the most likely to succeed.
