Housekeeper / Family Assistant

**Buckhurst Hill / Woodford Green**

We are a friendly and busy family looking for an experienced Housekeeper / Family Assistant to help keep our home organised, clean and running smoothly.

This is primarily a housekeeping role, although we are looking for someone who is comfortable around children and happy to provide occasional childcare support when required.

We are seeking someone who is reliable, trustworthy, proactive and takes pride in their work. The right person will enjoy creating a clean, organised and welcoming home environment and will become a valued part of our household.

Responsibilities

Housekeeping

* Daily cleaning and general upkeep of the family home
* Laundry and ironing
* Changing bed linen
* Keeping kitchens, bathrooms and living areas clean and organised
* Organising wardrobes, cupboards and storage areas
* Managing household supplies and shopping lists
* Keeping children's bedrooms and play areas tidy and organised

Family Assistance

* Receiving deliveries
* Running occasional errands
* Helping coordinate household appointments
* Assisting with general household organisation

Meal Preparation

* Preparing simple, healthy family meals a few times per week
* Preparing children's meals and snacks when required
* Assisting with food shopping and kitchen organisation

Childcare Support

* Comfortable around young children
* Happy to assist with occasional childcare support when required
* Occasional babysitting by prior arrangement
* Additional support during school holidays may occasionally be required

The Ideal Candidate

* Previous experience working within a private household
* Excellent housekeeping and organisational skills
* Honest, reliable and trustworthy
* Warm, friendly and professional
* Able to use initiative and work independently
* Comfortable around children
* Good spoken English
* Driving licence preferred but not essential

Hours

Approximately 25–30 hours per week, Monday to Friday.

We are happy to discuss a suitable schedule with the right candidate and can offer flexibility around working hours.

Additional hours may occasionally be available, including school holiday support and evening babysitting by prior arrangement.

Salary

Competitive and dependent on experience.
