About Me
Hey, my names Krysta!
I am 22 years old, living in pontprennau. Although I have not formally worked as a nanny before, I have a strong background in childcare through both personal and professional experience. I have spent many years looking after my nieces, nephews, and friends’ children, all of whom have described me as caring, reliable, and wonderful with kids. Alongside this, I have gained valuable experience in schools, supporting children of different ages (primary years) and needs.
I hold a BTEC Diploma in Health and Social Care, a degree in Educational Psychology with a focus on Special Educational Needs, and I am currently completing my Master’s in Psychology in Education part time. My studies and hands-on experience have given me excellent knowledge of supporting children with additional needs. I am confident in using the Picture Exchange Communication System (PECS) and have supported children in developing their communication, writing, and comprehension skills.
My passion for supporting children with special educational needs also comes from personal experience. A close family member of mine has autism and ADHD, and during the Covid19 lockdown, I home schooled her. When she was unable to communicate, I introduced PECS and worked with her until she began speaking, writing, and developing her comprehension, a journey I am extremely proud of.
In addition to childcare, I am also very tidy, organised, and reliable around the home as my family and friends would say. I am comfortable helping with light housekeeping, cleaning, and household tasks. I would like to also mention unfortunately I do not drive, however I am learning!
My Requirements
I am confident working with children of all ages and I am comfortable caring for two or more children at a time, depending on their individual needs. I also have experience supporting children with complex needs and am very happy to provide additional support where required.
My schedule will depend on my university timetable, which I will receive on the 22nd of September. At present, I expect to be in classes two days a week (likely Monday and Wednesday), but I am flexible and able to work around this. I can also offer weekends, evenings, and after-university hours, and I will always provide plenty of notice once I know my confirmed timetable.
I am open to a wide range of duties, including childcare, cooking, light cleaning, local school runs (as I do not drive), and supporting bedtime routines.
I am based in Pontprennau and happy to travel locally, though ideally not too far due to not driving.
