My Summary

My Experience

For three years I volunteered at a local Woodcraft Folk playgroup, a group focusing on outdoor education and learning about the environment and sustainability. During this time I was responsible for leading activities, ensuring the safety and wellness of all children in the group, and one-to-one support for children with additional needs. During secondary school, I completed a Child Development GCSE, finishing with an A grade. In my personal life, my parents spent many years fostering, and many of these children had additional needs. Therefore, I have learned first-hand how to look after children with additional needs, supporting them when they are overwhelmed, helping them with school work and encouraging play. I have also babysat for many years for children in my local area, with ages from under 1 year and up to 11. Additionally, during university, I volunteered with Book Explorers, a team going into schools to encourage small groups of children to read and discuss what they had learnt.
Whilst I am currently not DBS checked, I have been in the past for prior jobs and I am more than willing to reapply for a check.

My Qualifications

I have a first class psychology degree from the University of the West of England.
