Babysitter in Durham
My Summary
About Me
I’m an 18?year?old with a strong interest in education and child development, and I hope to become a primary school teacher in the future. I am patient, calm and reliable, and I enjoy creating positive, supportive environments for children of different ages and abilities. I take safeguarding seriously and always aim to help children feel safe, listened to and confident. I currently hold an enhanced DBS check, and I am building further hands?on experience as I prepare for a career working with young people.
My Experience
I have experience supporting children and young people across both primary and lower secondary ages in a wide range of settings. My school?based experience includes a full week of classroom support during my Year 12 work experience, working across Reception to Year 5 and assisting with reading, phonics, small?group activities and classroom routines. I have also supported children through Stomping Grounds Forest School, helping to deliver inclusive outdoor sessions for children with varying needs.
Beyond school, I have worked with young people through community and youth roles, including helping run children’s activities at Beamish Museum and volunteering in children’s liturgy. This summer, I will be volunteering on a kids’ summer camp with the St Vincent de Paul Society, supporting activities, supervision and pastoral care.
Alongside this practical experience, I have held trusted national youth leadership roles, including serving as a Youth Ambassador to the Children’s Commissioner for England and as a former Member of Youth Parliament. These roles demonstrate a high level of responsibility, safeguarding awareness and trust placed in me by organisations working directly with children and young people.
My Qualifications
I achieved all of my GCSEs with grades between 5 and 7, including the core subjects, and I am currently working towards A?levels in History, Geography and Politics. I also hold the Level 1 Introduction to the Forest School Ethos and Principles, which has strengthened my understanding of outdoor learning, safety and inclusive practice. Alongside this, my experience in school settings, youth roles and community work has helped me develop strong communication, safeguarding awareness and practical skills for supporting children and young people.
My Availability
As I have recently completed my A-level exams, I am now fully available for the summer.
My Fees
- Babysitting from £12.50 per hour
My standard babysitting rate is £12.50 per hour, which reflects a similar rate I held at my part?time role at Beamish Museum. I understand that every family’s circumstances are different, so I am open to discussing fees depending on your needs, the length of the booking and the specific requirements of the job. My aim is to provide safe, reliable and high?quality care that works well for your family.
