About Me

My name is Aneta, I live in Tiverton with my amazing 7 years old daughter, husband and 2 cats. My family, our health, safety and wellbeing is the most important to me.
My original idea of becoming a Childminder was to provide care in evening hours, because I have realised that there is a demand for it. I have been in the exact situation over the years where I couldn’t spend time alone with my husband, whether it was to go to the gym or cinema. I didn’t have any family nearby to help out and didn’t want to burden my already very busy mum friends. Although, most of the childcare is required during the school hours, there are a few days during the week when Parents and Carers need time for themselves to attend an evening work out class or a hobby group or just have a quiet dinner out with their partner.
I will also be offering care during the weekends, bank holidays, half term and end of term period in a form of special events such as fun summer garden parties with water splash and pool, picnics, sports activities and games; disco, movie nights and relax and unwind sessions for busy little minds; all depending on the season and the weather.

Children in my care, depending on the session (evening, weekend, term and end of term period) will receive healthy meals and snacks, according to their dietary needs if applicable.
Evening session may be a good time to do or finish their homework or just practice school activities that require extra work. I have a variety of tools that can help with Math, English, social and physical skills, such as Base 10 counting blocks and tokens in different colours; times tables and fractions charts and games; problem solving activity pads; puzzles; board games; and arts and crafts materials.
However, there are many ways in which children develop. It is important to allow them to unwind and relax after a busy day at school, express their feelings, build strong relationships with their friends and learn about being kind, respectful and understanding. Progress can also be made through completing tasks and chores, such as cleaning up after each activity or a meal; placing their coats and shoes neatly in the designated area, caring for a family pet; washing hands before and after a meal and helping each other. I believe that children who can follow a simple routine and complete a variety of tasks individually or as a group improve on their self-esteem and sense of belonging through these achievements.

My Experience

My experience in looking after children mostly comes from play dates that my daughter had with her class mates and their siblings at my house, from the age of 3 to 9 and at least 5 at a time. I organised a play time for them with games, movies, garden pool parties, meals and snacks and also helped with their homework. This is where my idea of evening and afterschool childcare came from because my friends needed that time to go the gym or finish work and studies.
Although, this is my only experience when taking care of children, I have a BA Hons and my employment background is in HR and Administration, Hospitality and Events, Public Service Interpreting and Invigilating Secondary School exams. Over the years I have trained and gained knowledge in HR and Safeguarding processes, Data Protection, Health and Safety, First Aid, Prevent Duty and interaction with customers of all backgrounds.
