About Us

Precious Playdays Apsley – a new preschool in the heart of Apsley, Hemel Hempstead.
We welcome children aged 2–5 years, Monday to Friday, 9am–3pm (term time only).

Our Pedagogy: The 4Es of Early Learning

Embodied – children learn with their whole body. Active play, movement, and sensory experiences build rich foundations for thinking and discovery.

Embedded – learning happens in context. Indoors, outdoors, and in social spaces, the environment invites curiosity and problem-solving.

Enculturated – relationships, family and culture guide how children grow. We value every child’s background and create a community where belonging matters.

Enabling – strong foundations naturally unlock new skills. Deep experiences in play and learning create cascades that open fresh opportunities for language, creativity, and connection.

Many families choose to pair preschool with home-based care — such as a nanny, childminder, or grandparent — for the perfect blend of group learning and homely beginnings, and for all-year-round childcare.

We accept all funding, and many families are eligible for 100% free early years education.
