About Me

Hi there! I’m Sam - originally from Canada, and now settling into life here in England. I’m really excited to connect with families in my new community and offer a helping hand with childcare.

While I’m new to one-on-one babysitting/childcare, I have lots of experience working with children and vulnerable people in group settings. Back in high school (aged 15 to 17, not sure what the school equivalent is here in England!), I helped run youth and after-school programs, which really sparked my love of working with kids. During University, I obtained my Bachelor’s degree in Family and Community Social Services, I completed a placement at a day centre supporting teenagers and young adults with cognitive disabilities, including complex autism and Down syndrome. Those experiences taught me how important it is to be patient, understanding, and creative when supporting others.

I’m passionate about creating safe, fun, and supportive environments where kids can feel comfortable, curious, and confident. Whether it’s helping with homework, playing games, or just being a steady, positive presence, I’m eager to build trusting relationships with the families I work with.

Outside of work, I’m always looking for ways to stay curious and creative. I enjoy learning piano, hiking new trails, watching movies, and painting pottery. I love sharing those interests with others and inspiring others to find little moments of joy in everyday activities.
