Hi! My name is Lindsay, and I’m an international student from the United States currently studying at the University of Reading. I’m pursuing a degree in Speech and Language Therapy, with the goal of eventually working with children to support their communication, confidence, and overall development.
I have a genuine passion for working with kids and enjoy creating a safe, engaging, and nurturing environment for them. Through my studies and work experience, I’ve gained a strong understanding of child development and the importance of patience, routine, and positive encouragement. I especially love incorporating creative and hands-on activities into childcare, such as arts and crafts, cooking, and baking, which I find are great ways to build skills, confidence, and have fun together. My Experience
I have been working with children since the age of 13 and have developed a wide range of childcare and educational experience across different settings. My most recent role was working as a summer nanny in 2025, where I rountinely picked up the girls from summer camp and took them on frequent outings to places such as local museums, the pool, and even pet stores to say hi to the animals! I also spent the 2024–2025 academic year working as learning support in a primary school. In this school-based role, I supported children both academically and socially, gaining lots of experience with children who had additional learning and communication needs.
Throughout my undergraduate studies, I regularly babysat for multiple families, gaining experience with children of varying ages, routines, and family dynamics. I have also spent several summers working in preschool summer camps, where I supported group activities, play-based learning, and early social and language development.
I have experience working with children aged 2 and up and am comfortable supporting children with a variety of special needs. I am also comfortable with homework help and tutoring due to my teaching experience!
My Qualifications
I have a valid DBS check, teaching experience, over 10 years of babysitting experience, and an undergraduate degree.
