Hello! My name is Jemma. I’m a qualified teacher with over five years’ experience working in both primary and secondary schools. I’m calm, reliable and enjoy creating a warm, engaging atmosphere where children feel safe and happy. I value kindness, curiosity and fun in how I work with young people, and I’m happy to adapt to each family’s needs and routines.
My Experience
I’ve taught in secondary schools for several years and spent 1.5 years working in a primary setting, supporting children across a range of ages and abilities. Alongside teaching, I’ve provided face-to-face tutoring for children aged 3–5, focusing on early literacy, numeracy and confidence-building through play. My experience in education means I’m confident managing behaviour, supporting learning, and ensuring children feel cared for and supported while parents are away.
I currently work at a middle school 3 days a week as a humanities teacher.
My Qualifications
Undergraduate Degree in Philosophy from the University of Leeds
PGCE in Secondary Education (Religious Studies)
First Aid and Defibrillator Trained with Red Cross
