My Summary
About Me
I’m a 23-year-old living in Surrey, and I would describe myself as a calm, loving, and reliable person. When caring for children, I always make sure they feel safe, valued, and supported. For me, childcare is all about the children’s wellbeing and happiness, so I’m committed to ensuring every child I look after is happy, thriving, and confident.
Coming from a family of five children, I’m comfortable in all kinds of environments and know how to adapt to different needs. I enjoy staying active and outdoors, which pairs perfectly with my passion for working with children — I love exploring nature with them and encouraging learning through play and adventure.
I attended boarding school, where I gained valuable life skills such as cooking, playing various sports, and developing a strong sense of independence — all things I bring into my daily life and work. I’m also an animal lover, having grown up surrounded by horses, dogs, and cats.
Working with children brings out my creative side and allows me to engage with the world through their eyes. I’m passionate about fostering a positive, nurturing environment where children can explore, learn, and grow.
My Experience
I’ve been working as a Nursery Nurse for over four years, mainly in three private nurseries. I’m first aid trained, DBS checked, and have a food hygiene certificate — all up to date.
For a year and a half, I was a Room Leader for a group of 15 little ones aged 1 to 3. I made sure they were safe, happy, and had fun learning every day through organised activities. I was also part of an Ofsted inspection where I was observed, and our nursery was rated Outstanding!
Alongside nursery work, lots of parents have asked me to babysit for them occasionally. I’ve done full days on my own with children, taking them out to parks, cafés, and soft play areas to keep things fun and active. I also have a full driving licence and have been driving for six years, so getting around isn’t a problem.
At home, I’m lucky to spend lots of time with my two nephews (9 months and 2 years). I often have sole charge of them when their parents are out, handling everything from feeding and naps to bath and bedtime routines. This has really helped me get comfortable with all aspects of caring for little ones in a family setting.
