My Summary
About Me
My name is Sophie, I've been living in London now for over ten years. I trained as an Actress at the Bristol Old Vic and have since been involved in lots of plays and shows that have been really enriching, i mainly love what the arts can do for people. Children feel like a really important part of my life, I love working with children and being around my families kids too! I suppose i am a big kid at heart and thats why i probably chose to be an actor so that i could spend my time playing and creating and living in fantasy worlds! I live at the Buddhist Centre in Bethnal Green in a Women's community and we are all practising Buddhists. This has become a really important part of my life and i love how much i can help people by the work we do at the Buddhist centre and helping on the many retreats we offer too! I really love being outdoors in nature, dancing, swimming, camping, and meditation!
My Experience
I have worked with children for over ten years now. This includes working in schools as a supply teacher, teach assisting, working one on one with children with Autism and being a Nanny with Bea and Co. During this time I have cared for children of all ages, youngest being 6 months, to children aged 16. I also have experience working with young adults through various community schemes and charities such as the Red Cross Destitution Centre and Compass Collective, a charity that supports unaccompanied minor refugees and asylum seekers integrate into the UK. During lockdown i worked full time helping families in my local area, this was a really precious time for me, getting to know families properly and seeing the children develop and grow over the course of the last 5 years! That is one of my favourite things about being a nanny is the connections that you form with the families and how you can both make such a lasting impact on each others lives.
