Alpana
Childminder in London
My Summary
About Me
Wild Foresters offers a warm, home-from-home setting where children are cared for in a loving, playful and family-centred environment. Children spend their days with me and my one-year-old son, creating a relaxed and comforting atmosphere.
I strongly believe children thrive when given the freedom to explore, imagine and learn at their own pace through child-led play. Our days are filled with music, dancing, storytelling, arts and crafts, imaginative play and outdoor adventures, alongside calm spaces for rest and relaxation, including a cosy reading corner and sensory area.
My care is personalised to each child’s interests and needs, while thoughtfully incorporating the EYFS framework alongside Montessori and Steiner-inspired approaches.
? Nature is at the heart of Wild Foresters. With Epping Forest and a lake on our doorstep, children regularly enjoy nature walks, seasonal exploration and outdoor learning experiences. We also spend time in our garden allotment, where children can grow, care for and harvest fruits and vegetables while learning about nature and healthy living.
I source food from the Organiclea allotment wherever possible, and all meals are freshly prepared using local, organic ingredients. My aim is to create a joyful environment where children feel nurtured, connected to nature and encouraged to flourish emotionally, socially and creatively.
My Experience
I have over 19 years’ experience working across both private and public healthcare, alongside 10 years as a holistic homeopathic practitioner specialising in children’s physical, emotional and mental wellbeing. Supporting children and families has always been at the heart of my work, and I am passionate about creating a calm, nurturing environment where children feel safe, valued and free to be themselves.
I hold a Diploma in Play Therapy, recognising play as one of the most natural and powerful ways children learn, communicate and express themselves. I have also completed a Child Development Diploma, giving me a strong understanding of children’s developmental stages and how best to support each child’s individual needs and personality.

I cannot recommend Alpana highly enough! I say Alpana is a high end childminder — she is the kind of caring, knowledgeable and nurturing person every parent hopes to find for their child.
From the very beginning, she has taken such thoughtful and loving care of my daughter Ayla. Alpana has created a calm, homely, warm and stimulating environment where children feel safe, valued and free to explore. Her approach is truly child-led: she takes the time to understand my child’s interests, personality and stage of development, then builds learning and play around that.
Alpana is incredibly creative and always enthusiastic about preparing games, activities and resources that help children learn through play. You can see how much joy she takes in supporting children’s development!
Her food is also excellent — nutritious, varied and made with real care. As a parent, it is such a comfort to know that my child is not only being looked after, but also being nourished properly.
What makes her especially unique is the depth of knowledge she brings. She understands so much about holistic health, child development, child psychology, education and wellbeing, and she is also certified in homeopathy. This gives her care a truly rounded and thoughtful quality. She notices the little things, responds with patience and wisdom, and always brings both professionalism and heart to what she does.
Alpana is always willing to help, always kind, and genuinely committed to supporting children and families. I often think she is ‘the village’ we all need — caring, capable, wise and full of warmth. Any family would be incredibly lucky to have her in their child’s life.

Alpana is highly skilled and trained to care after little ones, in both their emotional and physical wellbeing, thanks to her training as an Omeopathic doctor (among the rest of her certifications) But above all she is a wonderful, sweet and bubbly person, always with a smile on her face.
Both my daughters absolutely love her, I couldn’t recommend her highly enough!!
