About Me
Hi! I’m Maria, and I help children from KS1, KS2, KS3, up to GCSEs grow in confidence and enjoy learning. I love tutoring because I know how much a good tutor can help a child — it made a big difference for me when I was learning. I enjoy helping children understand new concepts, build confidence, and feel proud of their achievements. I create personalised worksheets and activities tailored to each child’s strengths and areas for improvement, so every session is productive and enjoyable. My approach is all about developing skills step by step and making learning something kids really look forward to!
My Experience
I have worked with children in different settings for several years. I was a Classroom Assistant at Kumon for just under four years, supporting children aged 3 to 16 with maths and English. I helped them with their work, tracked their progress, tested skills like times tables and reading, and provided one-on-one support when needed. I also communicated with parents and kept attendance records.
Before that, I worked as a Swimming Assistant at Flipper Club, helping children from babies to age 12 learn to swim. I adapted my support to each child’s ability and helped them feel confident in their skills.
These experiences have taught me how to work with children individually, support different learning styles, and build their confidence.
