Part Time Nanny Job in Birmingham
About Me
About Our Family - We are a busy, welcoming family living in Castle Vale with two energetic children aged 2 and 4 and a newborn. Parents/Carers will be working from home/handling the household during these hours, so we are looking for a friendly, proactive after-school helper to be a much-needed "extra pair of hands" during the busy late afternoon and dinner routine.
My Requirements
After-School "Extra Pair of Hands" Nanny / Mother’s Help – Castle Vale Birmingham
Part-Time, Monday to Thursday, 4 PM – 7 PM / approx. 12 hours per week]
Start Date: (as soon as we find the right nanny)
Pay Rate: £13 - £15 per hour (Depending on experience and qualifications)
Key Responsibilities -Child Entertainment & Play: Keeping our 2 and 4-year-old actively engaged with fun, age-appropriate activities at home (e.g., arts and crafts, floor play, puzzles, or playing in the garden).
Play-Based Learning Support: Gently encouraging learning letters and numbers with our 4-year-old. He currently resists formal learning, so we need someone creative who can weave counting, phonics, and letter recognition into fun, active, hands-on play (e.g., baking, sensory play, toy car games, or building blocks) rather than using worksheets.
Assisting with Routines: Helping transition the kids through the late afternoon—this could include helping serve their afternoon tea/dinner, sitting with them while they eat, or assisting with the early stages of the bath and bedtime routine. Tag-Teaming with Parents: Working alongside a parent to keep the evening running smoothly (e.g., you might look after the toddler while a parent helps the 4-year-old, or vice-versa)
Light Child-Related Tidying: Helping the children tidy up their toys after playtime and wiping down the table after dinner.
What We Are Looking For (Requirements):
Experience: Previous experience working with toddlers and young children (e.g., babysitting, nursery work, or childminding).
A background or interest in the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework is a major advantage.
Personality: Warm, energetic, patient, and proactive. Someone who can step into a room and instantly find a way to safely engage two young children.
Safety: Up-to-date Pediatric First Aid certificate is highly preferred.
Background Check: A clean, valid Enhanced DBS check.
Note: No driving licence or school pick-ups are required for this role, as care takes place entirely at our home.
What We OfferA competitive hourly rate based on your Early Years experience.
If you love working with early-years children and have a knack for making learning fun, please send me a message with your experience!
