My Requirements

We are looking for a caring, dependable, and patient personal assistant to spend quality time with our 14?year?old daughter who lives with autism and ADHD. The primary focus of this role will be accompanying her on outings and trips outside the home, providing supportive companionship and ensuring a comfortable, enjoyable experience.

What You’ll Do
Plan & Lead Outings: Organize and accompany her on a variety of activities such as museum visits, park outings, community events, shopping trips, and other recreational excursions.
Provide Gentle Guidance: Use proven autism/ADHD strategies (visual schedules, clear prompts, sensory breaks) to keep her comfortable and engaged throughout each outing.
Ensure Safety & Comfort: Monitor her sensory needs, anticipate potential triggers, and create a calm environment while navigating public spaces.
Foster Social Interaction: Encourage positive social experiences, help her practice communication skills, and celebrate small successes during trips.
Maintain Flexibility: Adapt plans on the fly if she needs extra downtime or a change of pace, always prioritizing her well?being.
Who We’re Looking For
Experience: Prior work with children or teenagers, especially those on the autism spectrum or with ADHD. Familiarity with outdoor activity planning is a plus.
Skills: Patience, empathy, strong communication, and the ability to read non?verbal cues quickly.
Reliability: Ability to commit up to 12hours per month with flexible scheduling to match school calendars and family plans.
Background Check: Must pass a standard background screening and provide references.
