Hello, I'm Emma!
I'm a first-year at Lancaster University studying Psychology. I'm French, so I am bilingual. I moved to the UK a year ago and have since gained both professional and voluntary childcare experience. I'm dedicated to creating a personalised experience for your child and family. I understand the importance of maintaining your child's routine, and as such, I ensure to have a comprehensive understanding of what this means for you and how I can support it. To be abe to carry out childcare to the highest standard, I believe it's important for us to have clear communication of goals you are working towards with your child, any ideologies you would like me to enforce as well as the general attitude you want from me.
My Experience
I have worked as a maths tutor for a 7-year-old child with special educational needs. This has taught me to be adaptable and present a typically monotonous task, like doing homework, more interactively and engagingly.
I have also worked in a nursery, so I have childcare experience with children aged 9 months to 4 years. As part of this job, I have learned to support developmental stages and have experience handling all types of mood swings and meltdowns.
Additionally, I have volunteered with the Pankhurst Trust, incorporating Manchester Women's Aid at a refuge for women and children victims of domestic violence. With this role, I've worked closely with children of a range of ages. This has given me the ability to create a rapport and build trust with children.
All of these experiences have compounded and given me extensive safeguarding training, the ability to be adaptable and taught me patience.
My Qualifications
I have extensive childcare and safeguarding experince.
My Availability
As I'm a university student, I have flexibility in my schedule but do need my hours to work around my classes. I am also available at weekends.
My Fees
- Babysitting from £12.50 per hour
My fees are flexible and dependent on how many children I will be responsible for, their ages and their unique needs.
My Local Schools
- I provide pick ups at Lancaster Girls' Grammar School
