About Me

I am a friendly, empathetic and calm ex-teacher and special needs tutor. I enjoy tutoring students who require extra support with their learning or who may want a bit more guidance on approaches to the Eleven Plus exams.

My Experience

I qualified as a teacher in 2006 after working as a Teaching Assistant at my two daughters’ school. Previous to that I also spent a few years as a Registered Childminder. In my teaching career I have taught all year groups within Key Stages one and two. I have more recently been a tutor to children without a current school place, many of whom are Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) and many present with behavioural challenges. I have a lot of training and experience with many aspects of SEND and I focus on making the pupils feel comfortable with me and enjoy their sessions in order to help them access the learning.

My Qualifications

BSc Hons Environmental Science, Primary PGCE (Canterbury Christchurch University).

My Availability

I am currently in a term time job but am hoping to focus more on private tuition and should soon have more availability.
