About Me
Hello, I’m Marianne and I’m excited to share that I’ve recently registered with Ofsted as a childminder. Originally from South Africa, England has been home to my family and me since 2001. I live with my husband, our three boys and our lovely cockapoo, Emi.
The children at ‘Marianne Steyn’s Childminding’ have access to many activities, toys and equipment both indoors and outdoors in a safe and secure environment.
Besides outings and field trips, we join the local toddler group twice a week with other childminders for group activities and social fun.
I believe in strong communication and building trusting relationships with both children and parents/carers, ensuring that every child’s needs are understood and valued.
My Experience
After more than 23 years as a teacher, working with children of all ages and abilities, I’m looking forward to bringing my experience and passion for early learning into my childminding business.
Guiding children on their journey of growth has always been a passion of mine. I work closely with families to make sure every child feels happy, supported and valued.
As a mum to three energetic boys, I’ve learned to embrace adventure, patience and creativity — skills that help me create a fun, caring and stimulating environment. My setting is a warm, home-from-home space where children can learn through play, make friends and feel safe to be themselves.
I look forward to welcoming your child into my care where I hope to create happy memories and build strong, trusting relationships.
My Qualifications
-Bachelor’s degree in Primary Education
-Honours degree Specializing in Special Education Needs
-Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) in England
-NCFE CACHE Level 3 award in preparing to work in Home Based Childcare
-Safeguarding Children for Designated Safeguarding Leads (England)
-Full Paediatric First Aid Certificate recognised by OFSTED
-Level 2 Food Safety and Hygiene for early years settings
-OFSTED Registered Childminder
