I am a recent Social Anthropology graduate currently working part time in London whilst applying to PhD funding.
My Experience
September 2022 - July 2025: Part-time Nanny, Dundee
- 3 children aged between 6 and 14
- School pick-ups, homework help, transport to sports clubs, dinner preparation and light housework, occasional overnight care.
- I am incredibly grateful to have been able to work with this family for 3 years and develop lasting relationships. I worked in a team with another student, the parents, and grandparents to provide flexible and reactive care that supported the children to pursue all their endeavours!
July - August 2020: Part-time Nanny, Surrey
- In line with Covid restrictions, I provided childcare for one 3 year old over the summer period.
- Duties were mainly play-based with light housework.
March 2019 - July 2020: Crèche Assistant, Surrey
- I worked in a team of 2 to provide care for groups of children aged between 1 and 10 at a private tennis club.
- I organised fun, creative activities to keep children engaged and ensured a safe environment for them to play whilst their parents used the club facilities.
Outside of childcare, I have undertaken multiple research internships investigating perspectives on music education and have produced commissioned work evaluating the social impacts of music outreach schemes in Scotland. My academic work focuses on medical anthropology, specifically concerned with the lived experiences of neurodivergent women.
