About Me
Hello, I'm Claire and I live on Dartmoor, near Ashburton. I have been a teacher for twenty two years and I am passionate about Early Childhood. I centre loving, trusting relationships in my work with babies, young children and their families, as well as inclusion, play, following children’s interests, active listening, imagination and opportunities for enchantment. I love being outdoors and I led woodland play days for a few years in our Nursery School. I carried out a Food Project for a few years with children and families that included exploratory play, growing, harvesting, cooking, and cultural and food share in the community.
My Experience
As a teacher I have worked with babies, young children and their families in Nursery Schools, Children Centres and Primary Schools. Before my teaching career I worked with children with Autism and their families, supporting children in school and at home. For the last few years I have also been working in Higher Education lecturing students on their Early Childhood Studies Undergraduate degree, and supporting and assessing students in Early Childhood placements. Following my work in HE I am looking to return to working more closely with babies, young children and their families again.
I have a DBS enhanced check on the update service and I ensure that my knowledge is updated every year in line with any additions to statutory and non-statutory safeguarding, child protection and curriculum policy.
My Qualifications
*Masters in Early Childhood Studies (2020)
*PCGE in Early Childhood Education (2011)
*Level 1 Forest School Training
*PCGE 3-7 (2003) Qualified Teacher Status (2004)
My Availability
I am currently open to work on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays.
I offer two hour minimum sessions, nanny shares are an option to make sessions affordable. I look forward to meeting you to discuss the possibility of working together.
My Fees
- Nannying from £23.00 per hour (gross)
- Babysitting from £20.00 per hour
