About Me

Hi, I’m Grace! I’m 21 and live in Witney, Oxfordshire. I’m naturally bubbly, warm, energetic and I’ve always had a real soft spot for children. I love their curiosity, their wonderfully random questions, the little things they get excited about, and watching their personalities gradually unfold.

I have A-Levels in Psychology, Sociology, and Religion, Philosophy & Ethics, with Psychology being the subject that really sparked my interest, specifically child development. I’ve always been fascinated by how children think, learn and understand the world around them. I’m the sort of person who can happily fall down a research rabbit hole about child psychology and somehow end up with ten new ideas for an activity!

I love finding ways for children to learn without it feeling like they’re learning. Imaginative play, exploring outdoors, getting creative, asking questions, making up stories and discovering something completely new are all things I love. I think childhood should have plenty of structure, but also plenty of room for muddy shoes, big imaginations and the occasional “why?” being asked approximately 47 times in a row.

I’m also a big believer in routine. I’m quite a routine-orientated person myself, and I’ve seen first-hand how much consistency can influence a child’s mood, behaviour and energy. Having a familiar rhythm to the day can give children a real sense of security and help them understand what comes next. At the same time, I don’t think every day needs to run like a military operation! I like the idea of having a dependable routine as the foundation, whilst leaving plenty of room for spontaneity, fun and whatever adventure the day happens to bring.

I’m a keen reader and naturally very curious. I love learning about psychology, child development, nutrition and wellbeing, and I’m always interested in understanding why something works rather than simply doing it because “that’s how it’s always been done.”

Nutrition is another big interest of mine. I love meal prepping and learning about how food supports our energy, development and overall wellbeing. I understand how important nutrition is during childhood, and I’d love to make healthy food feel enjoyable and exciting rather than something children are expected to tolerate because it’s “good for them”! I think getting children involved in food, where appropriate, can be a lovely way of encouraging curiosity and independence too.

I’m naturally quite active and love being outdoors. I’m happiest when I’m busy, moving around and making the most of the day. I’d much rather be planning a little adventure, exploring somewhere new, visiting a park or finding something interesting to do outside than sitting indoors all day. I love creating days that children actually remember — even if the grand adventure turns out to be finding the best puddle to jump in!

I’ve cared for younger family members from newborn through to their teenage years, including children who are neurodivergent. This has taught me something I think is incredibly important: there isn’t one perfect way to care for every child. Every child has their own personality, temperament, interests and way of communicating, and I believe good childcare means getting to know the individual child rather than trying to make them fit into a particular mould.

I’m very big on open communication and being non-judgemental. I want children to feel comfortable talking to me, asking questions, telling me when something is bothering them and simply being themselves. I also understand that being a supportive adult doesn’t mean saying yes to everything! I’m happy to provide boundaries and guidance whilst still making sure a child feels heard, respected and understood.

And I completely appreciate that parenting can sometimes be wonderfully rewarding, occasionally hilarious and, on other days, just downright exhausting! I want to be the person a parent can trust to step in without judgement, take the reins for a little while and give them that much-needed breathing space.

Ultimately, I’d love to be more than someone who simply keeps children safe and entertained. I want to be a trusted, positive role model who helps children feel confident, curious and capable; someone they remember fondly when they look back on their childhood.

I’m still at the beginning of my childcare journey, but I’m genuinely passionate about it, naturally curious and very eager to keep learning. For me, the most rewarding part would be knowing that a child feels safe, happy, understood and excited to see me walk through the door.

My Experience

I have experience as a Junior UHNW Private Housekeeper within a prestigious Grade I country estate in Oxfordshire, working within a highly discreet private household.

My role has included being a first point of contact for the Principals and guests, working on a sole charge basis, driving estate vehicles and ensuring the house and wider estate are secure, organised and presented to an exceptional standard.

I regularly liaise with different departments, specifically contractors, personal assistants, chauffeurs and the estate manager. Coordinating requirements and supporting the smooth running of the property. I have also supported large corporate and private events, guest stays and special occasions, ensuring the household and event spaces are prepared and maintained to a high standard.

I have experience caring for the household’s K9 security/protection dog, alongside other dogs and estate animals, including walks, daily care and veterinary appointments. I have also supported private aviation movements, following established aircraft protocols for arrivals and departures, welcoming guests and discreetly handling luggage.

My housekeeping responsibilities have included food preparation, flower care, laundry and fine garment care, deep cleaning, polishing, turn-down service, leather care and the careful maintenance of antique furniture. I have been professionally educated in environmentally conscious cleaning methods, with an understanding of how to select appropriate products and techniques for different surfaces, materials and delicate finishes. I have also supported the upkeep of wellness and leisure facilities, as well as wider estate responsibilities including produce harvesting and the care of estate animals, including chickens.

I have been trusted to lock up and follow house security procedures, train new members of staff and have developed a strong understanding of discretion, confidentiality, organisation, initiative and anticipating the needs of a private household

I have experience caring for younger family members from newborn through to 17 years old, and have been trusted to care for children independently within my family. This has included supporting neurodivergent children, adapting my communication, activities and approach to their individual needs, personalities and routines. This experience has strengthened my understanding of patience, consistency, boundaries and creating an environment where children feel safe, understood and encouraged.

I hold experience working in retail and within a luxury spa environment, where I developed strong customer service, communication and organisational skills. As a spa host, I was responsible for welcoming and assisting guests, maintaining high standards throughout the facilities and helping create a warm, calm and welcoming experience. My retail experience has further developed my confidence communicating with a wide range of people and working efficiently within a busy environment.
