Live In Nanny Job in Swanscombe
My Requirements
Hello! We’re a warm and friendly family of four living in a lovely part of Kent, and we’re looking for an au pair to join our family as soon as possible, as our previous arrangement has unexpectedly fallen through.
We have two young children: an 8-month-old baby and a 2-year-old. We’re looking for someone kind, reliable and confident with young children who would like to become part of our family rather than simply feel like an employee.
We’re very well connected to London, with excellent transport links — the Southeastern train takes around 11 minutes to Stratford.
The role will change slightly over the coming months and will be split into two phases:
Phase 1 – While I’m on maternity leave
For the next few months, I’ll be at home on maternity leave and will mainly be caring for the baby myself. Your main responsibility would therefore be our 2-year-old, helping with their day-to-day routine, playtime, meals and activities.
I may occasionally ask for some help with the baby too, for example if I need to run errands, attend an appointment or simply need an extra pair of hands.
Phase 2 – When I return to work
Once I return to work, the routine will change slightly. Three days a week, you would look after both children while I’m working.
On the other two weekdays, we would mainly need help in the mornings and evenings with the children’s routines and generally having an extra pair of hands around the house.
You would have your own bedroom and your own bathroom/toilet. The children may occasionally use this bathroom, but the adults in the house would not.
Weekends would generally be completely free. We may occasionally ask if you’re available for some babysitting, but this would be discussed in advance. We’re also very happy to be flexible with hours where possible and would like to find an arrangement that works well for everyone.
Most importantly, we want our au pair to feel genuinely welcome, comfortable and part of our family. It’s really important to us that you’re happy with the role, the hours and the household, so we’d love to have an open conversation about what you’re looking for too.
If this sounds like it could be a good fit, we’d love to hear from you and tell you a little more about us and our family.
