About Me
We are a warm, friendly medical family relocating to London from Glasgow for a fellowship from January to August (with the possibility of extending). Mum is a paediatric surgeon and Dad is an anaesthetist. We have two young children who are the centre of our world: a determined, hilarious almost-4-year-old daughter, and her younger brother, a silly, affectionate, happy 2-year-old boy.
Our home is calm, welcoming, and fairly structured due to our work patterns, but also full of giggles, messy play, and cosy cuddles. We value kindness, reliability, good communication, and anyone who genuinely enjoys being part of a child’s learning and imagination.
We also have a much-loved 9-year-old cockerpoo, Alba, who is friendly, gentle and very loyal. She is part of the family and appreciates the occasional pat or stroll in the park, but is very easy-going.
My Requirements
We are looking for a reliable, experienced nanny who is warm, nurturing, and confident caring for two young children. The role will be 3 days per week (happy to work with the right person to find the best 3 days) 7am–7pm, starting in January 2026, to support us during our medical fellowships. The right person will be someone who brings calm, creativity, and good judgement, and who understands the rhythms of busy professional households.
Key aspects of the role include:
• Providing safe, loving care for a 4-year-old and 2-year-old.
• Helping with morning routines, mealtimes, naps, and age-appropriate play.
• Planning fun, engaging activities both at home and out-and-about.
• Supporting early development, curiosity, and independence with warmth and patience.
• Light childcare-related housekeeping (tidying play areas, children’s laundry, simple meals).
• Being comfortable with a gentle, friendly dog in the home.
We’re looking for someone who will feel like part of the team—professional, proactive, and genuinely fond of getting to know each child’s personality. Our daughter thrives with someone who appreciates her determination and sense of humour; our little boy blossoms with silliness, cuddles, and playfulness.
