Our daughter started with Melissa when she was a year old, and has now been with her for several months. We have only positive things to say about Melissa, and cannot recommend her more highly. From next year, we are lucky to be increasing our days with her.
Right from the start, we were impressed by Melissa. Her communication is prompt and professional, but her manner is warm and approachable. When we first visited, we loved the home from home atmosphere that she creates, and we could see what a strong attachment the children in her care have with her. She is clearly so passionate about her work, and we knew this was the type of care that we wanted for our daughter.
Throughout the settle in process, Melissa went above and beyond to make sure that our daughter felt supported and soothed. She initially found it very hard to be separated from us, and Melissa was so sensitive to this, patiently and gently supporting her through her big feelings. Nothing was rushed, and the length of visits was increased incrementally so that the settling process was gradual. She even made the effort to meet us for a dog walk on her day off to help our daughter get to know her and her family dog Lola better. The flexibility and generosity Melissa showed during this process made an extraordinary difference to our family: our anxieties about leaving our daughter in childcare were calmed, and she was able to settle at her own pace.
Now our daughter reaches out for a cuddle with Melissa when we drop her off, and I feel confident that she is in safe, supportive, and responsive hands. During the day, Melissa updates me with all the relevant information via the Famly app, which is very reassuring.
What I like most about her care is the genuine love she puts into her interactions with the children, and also the way that she treats each child as the individual he or she is. I am also always impressed by how inventive and creative her activities are, and how much time they spend outside and in nature.
We feel so lucky to have found Melissa, and we are really excited to see our daughter bloom even more in her care.
