About the Role:
We are a warm, easy-going family in Hackney looking for a reliable and proactive Nanny/Housekeeper to support our afternoons. The role focuses on preparing daily family meals, light household tasks, and collecting and caring for our 20-month-old son. Most evenings we manage bedtime ourselves, but occasional help would be welcome if work schedules are busy.
Our son spends three days a week with a childminder (5 minutes’ walk away) until 5:30 PM, and two days at nursery (5:30 PM finish and a 25-minute walk). We both work full-time Monday to Friday in busy, sometimes demanding roles, so having consistent afternoon support makes a big difference to our family routine.
We are also looking for someone who is happy to be flexible from time to time—for example, with advance notice starting earlier, or staying slightly later, working a full day and able to work weekends if needed (rarely but on occasion).
Key Responsibilities:
Childcare:
Collecting our son from nursery/childminder (all within walking distance; no driving needed).
Engaging him in age-appropriate play and activities once home.
Preparing and serving his tea.
Supporting the evening routine occasionally (bath or getting ready for bed).
Housekeeping & Cooking:
Preparing a healthy daily family meal (for two adults and one toddler).
Light household cleaning and general tidying to keep shared areas organised.
Family laundry.
Running small household errands when needed.
Resetting the home at the end of the day.
The Ideal Candidate:
Experience with toddlers (1–3 years) in a sole-charge or similar role.
Based in or near Hackney, or easily able to commute.
Organised, warm, and comfortable balancing childcare with household tasks.
Happy to offer occasional flexibility (earlier start/later finish) mid-week
Occasionally able to offer weekend babysitting (not essential but would be a bonus)
Clean DBS and checkable references.
