About Me
I am a retired software engineer and for the last 2 years, I have worked in a voluntary capacity as an English teacher. I would like to continue my passion of teaching. I really enjoy working with children and seeing them have fun and learn new skills. I have 3 grown up children of my own. I love hiking, swimming and reading.
My Experience
For the last 2 years working as an English teacher in boarding schools in India. In this role I was required to create lesson plans for English, teach 5 classes a day, 6 days a weeks during term time. I was also providing reading lessons after school, one to one coaching and remedial classes. My other duties included preparing termly tests, marking and invigilation of exams. I was involved in social activities, providing support/encouragement and school trips. I have also taught Gujarati and Hinduism in a Sunday school for over 10 years and therefore have many years of experience working with children. I have experience of tutoring for 11 plus and GCSE.
My Qualifications
I have a degree in Computer Science with certifications as a Software Tester and Test Management from the British Computer Society.
