Hello, I’m Emma, a childminder based in Newhall, Swadlincote, offering a small, nurturing and nature-focused setting for children aged 6 months to 5 years.

I have successfully completed my Ofsted registration visit and am currently awaiting my registration certificate. I am now taking enquiries for childcare places from October 2026, subject to receiving my certificate.
? A calm, natural home-from-home
I have a purpose-built log cabin in my garden, carefully designed to provide a warm, calm and homely environment where children feel safe, happy and confident.
Our setting is inspired by Montessori, Reggio Emilia and Steiner, with a focus on natural resources, loose parts, real-world objects and open-ended materials. Children are encouraged to explore, investigate, create and learn at their own pace.
? Learning through nature
Outdoor play and connecting with nature are a huge part of our days. We follow a nature-inspired curriculum based around the seasons, offering plenty of sensory exploration, hands-on learning and opportunities to discover the world around us.
? Child-led & play-based
I believe children learn best through play, exploration and following their own interests. Our days are child-led and play-based, with experiences thoughtfully adapted to each child's individual needs, interests and stage of development.
I live with my husband and our 2-year-old daughter, and my aim is to create a setting that feels like a little extension of home — a place where children can feel secure, build confidence and independence, develop meaningful relationships and, most importantly, enjoy their childhood. ?

My Experience
I have over 10 years’ experience working in Early Years, where I have had the opportunity to work in a variety of roles, progressing from Early Years Practitioner and Room Leader through to Deputy Manager. During this time, I have gained extensive experience caring for and supporting children from 9 months to 5 years, developing a strong understanding of children's individual needs, development and learning.
I also have around 2 years' experience as a SEN Teaching Assistant within an Enhanced Resource Unit in a mainstream school. In this role, I supported children with a range of special educational needs and learning difficulties, giving me valuable experience in adapting activities, communication and support to meet each child's individual needs.
My Qualifications
- BA (Hons) in Education (1st Divison)
- Foundation Degree in Early Childhood Studies
- Level 3 CACHE Diploma for the Children and Young People Workforce
- Paediatric First Aid Training
- DBS Certificate
- Food Hygiene Level 2
- DSL Safeguarding Children
- EYSEN- Introduction to SENCO
- Prevent Duty

I currently have limited childcare spaces left, i have Tuesday, Thursday and Friday (Full Day).

- Childminding from £7.00 per hour
