About Me

Hello, I'm Emma, a Ofsted Registered Childminder, based in Newhall, Swadlincote. I live with my husband and 2 year old daughter, and have two springer spaniel dogs called Milo and Indy. I have a purpose built log cabin in my garden which has been carefully designed to provide a natural, calm and homely environment where children feel safe, happy and confident. We care for children aged 6 months up to 5 years old.
Our environment is inspired by Montessori, Reggio Emilia and Steiner to create curiosity and wonder through natural resources, loose parts, real world objects and open ended resources. We have a huge focus on outdoor play and connecting with nature. We have a nature- inspired curriculum following the seasons and sensory exploration and hands on learning experiences. We are play based/ child led following children's individual needs, interests and development.
My Experience
I have over 10 years experience working in early years, i have been in various roles such as room leaders working my way up to a deputy manager role. In this time, i have gained valuable experience working with children aged 9 months up to 5 year olds.
I have around two years experience working with children as a SEN Teaching Assistant, in a Enhanced Resource Unit in a main stream school. I supported children with different SEN and learning difficulties.
My Qualifications
- BA (Hons) in Education (1st Divison)
- Foundation Degree in Early Childhood Studies
- Level 3 CACHE Diploma for the Children and Young People Workforce
- Paediatric First Aid Training
- DBS Certificate
- Food Hygiene Level 2
- DSL Safeguarding Children
- EYSEN- Introduction to SENCO
- Prevent Duty
My Availability
I have availability Monday to Friday, 8am- 5pm All Year Round. I do accept funding places if you are eligible.

- Childminding from £7.00 per hour
