About Me
Single working mom of 3 and 4 yo looking for part time nanny
My Requirements
?? Part-Time Nanny Role, Kensington, London - Immediate Start
We are seeking a reliable, warm, and emotionally attuned Part-Time Nanny to care for two young girls aged 3 and 4 in Kensington, London. The ideal candidate will live out (non-live-in) and work with a family led by a busy single working mother.
This role requires a candidate with extensive professional childcare experience, strong communication skills and a strong ability to support toddlers through daily routines, emotional regulation and healthy sibling interactions. A solid understanding of early years development is essential, including helping with pre-school homework such as basic English phonics, early writing, counting, and basic numeracy.
We are looking for someone dependable, proactive, hard-working, and confident managing routines, transitions, and toddler emotions with calm, kindness, and structure.
? Compensation
The Part-Time Nanny will be paid a competitive hourly rate, dependent on experience (e.g., £15-£18 per hour gross). This role is on a fixed part-time schedule as detailed below, with opportunities for additional paid babysitting.
?? Working Hours & Schedule
The girls divide their time between both parents’ homes. The Nanny is only required when the children are with their mother. This means the role involves an alternating, high-intensity/off-period schedule.
Total hours will be approximately 27–28 hours per week on average, following a fixed two-week cycle:
| Week Cycle | Schedule Overview | Approx. Hours |
| Week 1 | Children with Mother for 3 Weekdays + Saturday Morning | 27 hours |
| Week 2 | Children with Mother for 4 Weekdays | 28 hours |
The working schedule follows a 2-week cycle followed by 5 consecutive days off:
* Week 1 (3 Weekdays + Saturday):
* 3 Weekdays (e.g., Wednesday – Friday):
* Morning: 7:00–9:00 (Breakfast prep, school preparation, drop-off, light tidying)
* Afternoon/Evening: 14:30–19:30 (School pick-up, activities, prepare simple healthy dinner, and occasional bedtime prep/support)
* Approx. 7 hours per day = 21 weekday hours total
* Saturday Morning: 7:00–13:00 (Approx. 6 hours)
* Approx total Week 1 hours = 27 hr
**note if Saturday is not viable for nanny then that is OK as long as they are fine with less hours this week**
* Week 2 (4 Weekdays):
* 4 Weekdays (e.g., Monday – Thursday):
* Morning: 7:00–9:00
* Afternoon/Evening: 14:30–19:30
* Approx. 7 hours per day = 28 hours total per week
* Babysitting:
* 1–2 evenings per week, if required (e.g., for work trips or dinners). Always pre-arranged and paid separately at the agreed hourly rate.
? Duties & Responsibilities
* School runs (drop-off and pick-up).
* Accompanying children to activities.
* Engaging in developmentally appropriate play and activities at home.
* Children’s laundry, including ensuring school uniforms are ironed, ready and laid out the night before, and their bedding is washed once a week.
* Staying on top of school schedules and homework requirements.
* Preparing and cooking healthy simple meals/snacks for the children.
* Babysitting when pre-arranged.
* Light tidying in common spaces, especially related to the children (e.g., unloading/loading children's items in the dishwasher, tidying up toys).
?? Holiday Entitlement
The alternating schedule provides a significant amount of built-in time off. In addition:
* During the 5-day period where the children are at the father’s home, every other week, the Nanny has no duties.
* Major Holidays: Time off is provided when the children are with their father for shared holidays, amounting to approximately 6-8 weeks off per year.
? General Notes
Hours and duties should remain flexible given the mother’s workload and if there are instances of children's illness or last-minute changes to the schedule. Flexibility is key to this role, with a major benefit being both the location and the guaranteed periods of time off.
We look forward to finding a dedicated and professional Nanny to join our support network.
