My Summary
About Me
Hi, my name is Lindsay Hitchcock-Swaine and I am the owner of Lucky Ducks Childminding. I am currently pre-registration but as my OFSTED visit is due very soon I should be opening in January 2027. I live in my large new build home, with secure enclosed garden, with my husband Lee and my two daughters aged 10 and 11.
My Experience
I graduated from Demontfort University over 20 years ago with a degree in Education Studies. I then began working as nursery nurse and gained my NVQ lvl 3 in children’s care, learning and development. I returned back to university in 2009 to gain my PGCE and then worked as a class teacher starting in mainstream and moving into special education needs. For 16 years I taught children with complex needs and/or Autism, many of whom were non verbal and working at the level of an average early years child. After giving up teaching earlier this year, I currently work for the local authority in their SEND department while I set up my own childcare provision, aiming for a nurturing, home from home setting where young children can feel valued and loved while getting the best start with early education.
Alongside this, in the evenings, I offer babysitting services, looking after children in their own homes. I have several local clients and one of these family have used my services for over 2 years.
I am DBS checked and on the update system and hold a paediatric first aid certificate.
I have worked with children and young people from 0-16 in a professional capacity, both neurotypical children and children and young people with a range of complex needs.
"Lindsay's babysitting service" is able to look after your child on an ad hoc basis while you let your hair down for some (likely) much needed R&R. Whilst Lucky Ducks Childminding is here for your daily childcare needs.
